Day 4 Bali or Bust
what an amazing return to Bali after 10 years
Arrived in Bali and first night stayed in Sanur at the Sanur Beach Hotel. This is a large hotel on the beach. It is great to be back in Bali again and enjoyed the warm balmy weather. People still very friendly and helpful and still lots of locals selling their wares. I met Rose and she was enjoying the beach and shopping.
Next morning we meet Hendra, our guide and nephew to Jero Sandhi, our Balinese Priest friend.
He is friendly and happy and ready to serve.
Our first stop was up at Ubud and we enjoyed a yummy lunch at "Indus" (highly recommended).
The mountain air was cooler and vegetation lush.
We continue over the mountain to our friend's house at Penyusuhan. The land is next to the "Temple of One' and has amazing energy. We call this "The sanctuary" because it is great to stay there and chill out after travelling. This is where to stay and really feel the energy of the island in a lovely bush setting with trees and a natural spring and pool to swim. this water is particularly healing and pure.
After enjoying our stay we met with jero Sandhi, our host..
He is very busy preparing for a ceremony at his new family temple in Singaraja but takes time out to speak with us and advise about the ceremony which we are invited too!
He also advises us to travel to the temples west from us at Pemuteran.
We start the next day and travel with Sumiani, Hendras Balinese wife up to Pemuteran.
Here we prepared for the 3 temple tour to amazing temples in the area and met many Balinese going to the temple to prayer. This was wonderful to go to the temples at sunset and prayer alongside the locals and give offerings. (photos coming!)
Now is the day after the temple visits and after staying at the Reef Villas with a friendly Australian host. I went out in the boats and had a wonderful snorkel in the clear warm waters with 2 girls from Canada. there is lots of coral and fish to see.
Today we are preparing for the big ceremony at Jero Sandhi's house tomorrow and the blessing of the temple there.
